NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Chatham will hold a
February 21, 2019 at 6PM

WHEREAS, the Town Board desires to enact Local Law #1-2019 to provide  the setting of building and other fees to be charged by the Town in resolution form rather than by amending the provisions of Town Code, and

WHEREAS, a public hearing is required before the enactment of said local law,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Chatham hereby directs that a public hearing be held on February 21, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Town of Chatham Town Hall to hear all interested parties regarding adoption of proposed Local Law #1-2019 to Delete Town Code Chapter A-190 Fees, and to modify Town Code Section 124-16 to permit the Town Board to set all Building and other fees by resolution.

A copy of the proposed Local Law will be available for review on the website: chathamnewyork.us or at the Town Hall during regular business hours.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Chatham, Columbia County, NY, will hold a Public Hearing before enacting a New Zoning Law as follows:

Where and when: The public hearing will be held on Thursday, March7, 2019, at 6:00 PM at the Town of Chatham Town Hall, 488 State Route 295, Chatham, NY.

Subject matter and purpose of the Public Hearing. The purpose of the public hearing is for the Town Board to take comments from the citizens of Chatham and the general public on a proposed new Zoning Law which is being considered by the Town Board for adoption. This is the opportunity for citizens and property owners in Chatham to provide the Town Board with their comments on the proposed law.

Who may be affected by the proposed new Zoning Law? Zoning laws govern how property in the Town may be used by those who own or occupy property in the Town. The proposed new Zoning Law will accomplish comprehensive changes and improvements to the existing Zoning Law. The scope of the new law is wide and this new Zoning Law potentially affects many properties located in the Town of Chatham in one way or another. Please check the new law to see if your property is affected.

Where can the new Proposed Zoning Law be found for review? The proposed new Zoning Law will be available for review at Town of Chatham Town Hall, located at 488 State Route 295, Chatham, NY 12037, during Town Hall business hours. The Proposed Zoning Law can also be found at chathamnewyork.us.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 3rd day of January, 2019, the Town Board of the Town of Chatham, Columbia County, New York, duly adopted a bond resolution entitled “BOND RESOLUTION DATED JANUARY 3, 2019; A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TOWN PARK PAVILION IMPROVEMENTS AND THE ISSUANCE OF SERIAL BONDS OF THE TOWN OF CHATHAM, COLUMBIA COUNTY, NEW YORK IN AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $225,000 PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL FINANCE LAW TO FINANCE THE COST THEREOF, PROVIDING THAT THIS RESOLUTION SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM, AND DELEGATING CERTAIN POWERS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH TO THE TOWN SUPERVISOR”, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to permissive referendum pursuant to Section 35 of the Local Finance Law and Article Seven of the Town Law of the State of New York.

Said resolution authorizes a Town Park improvement project including reconstruction of a pavilion at the Town Park, having an estimated aggregate maximum cost of $225,000, and a period of probable usefulness of 10 years.  The resolution further authorizes the issuance of serial bonds of the Town of Chatham, Columbia County, New York, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $225,000 pursuant to the Local Finance Law to finance the cost thereof, with a proposed maturity in excess of 5 years and delegates certain powers to the Town Supervisor.

It has been determined that such purpose constitutes a Type II action as defined under the State Environmental Quality Review Regulations, which will not have a significant effect on the environment.

Said resolution shall take effect thirty days after adoption, unless there shall be filed with the Town Clerk a petition signed and acknowledged by the electors of the Town qualified to vote upon a proposition to raise and expend money, in number equal to at least five percentum of the total vote cast for governor in the Town at the last general election held for the election of State officers, protesting against the resolution and requesting that the matter be submitted to the qualified electors of the Town at a referendum in the manner provided by the Town Law.

A copy of the resolution is available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the Town Clerk, located at the Town Hall, 488 State Route 295, Chatham, New York 12037.
